DISCONTINUED: Rënvirons Project

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Discontinued / Creator Arrested

Hi there, Star here. I was a developer for the Renvirons Project a few years back and helped build the foundation, allowing the project to be where it's currently. Back in the day, this project was practically my child. I got to better understand Unity and learn some crazy impressive stuff, all because of this game. Thank you to everyone who has expressed interest in the Renvirons Project; it means a lot to me.

Unfortunately, I have some disappointing news to share. The original creator of the project, Nextrevit, has gotten into some deep trouble and has been put in jail. There is an ongoing federal investigation around him, and, likely, we will not hear from him for a long time. Depending on what the courts rule, it's likely that he won't be back on the internet indefinitely. I won't go into details on what happened for privacy reasons, just that this bit of information needed to be shared.

As a result of the creator's current arrest, that leaves only me with access to the project's source and other related services. I don't have access to the Dropbox where we upload the latest builds to our launcher, which makes the launcher broken. Additionally, as much as I'd like to continue the legacy and continue building the project, I no longer have the time needed to keep progressing on this game. Unity has also become mid, and I would want to rewrite the game in a different engine. All of that takes time, which I currently don't have.

What does that mean for the project? It means that this project is officially cancelled as of 7/1/26. I have disabled donations as I don't want anything being donated to our original creator, and I have disabled the Mods repository on our GitHub as I don't want the creator's assets being used. The project has been placed in an archived state and will no longer be receiving updates. Maybe maintenance in the future, but currently, everything has been dropped.

Nextrevit has deleted the Discord, and all external links associated with the project have been removed or archived. I would open-source it, but unfortunately, we purchased third-party assets that the project relies on, forcing me to keep it privately sourced.

If Nextrevit is released from prison and gets to come back to the project, I will no longer be participating in the project. I do not want to affiliate myself with Nextrevit anymore, so consider this my resignation. Thank you to everyone who supported The Renvirons Project throughout the years; your support means the world to me, and I apologize that the project had to end this way.
